Copper Care Digital Kit
A Simple Guide to help you with your jewelry shining!
Your new jewelry is crafted from 99.99% pure copper. Unlike gold, copper naturally develops a patina over time—especially in humid or extreme environments. (Think of the Statue of Liberty, which is made entirely of copper.) In fact, this same process is how stunning stones like Malachite and Chrysocolla are formed.
✨ But don’t worry—the beauty of pure copper is that it’s easy to restore and polish.
Quick Cleaning (5 Simple Steps)
What you’ll need:
Lemon juice
Salt (pink salt recommended—it also helps “charge” your copper)
A cup or small bowl
Rubbing alcohol
Microfiber cloth
All of these can be found at your local dollar store.
Steps:
Add lemon juice and a sprinkle of salt to a cup.
Place your chain inside and let it soak. (The longer it soaks, the rosier it becomes.)
Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly.
Wipe down with rubbing alcohol to remove any moisture or oils.
Buff with a microfiber cloth to renew its shine.
Tips for Slower Tarnish
Avoid heavy lotions, oils, and perfumes directly on the copper.
Remove your chain before swimming in chlorine , or salt water.
Extra Note on Copper’s Nature 🌿
Copper is naturally antibacterial and often reacts with the skin when worn for the first time. Many people notice it pulling out surface toxins, which may leave a temporary greenish tint. With regular wear, your body usually adapts, and this effect fades.
Personally, I’ve worn the same copper chain daily for over four years—and only need to clean it every 1–2 months.
From the Coppersmith
As a coppersmith, it’s my responsibility to share not only the care tips but also the alchemy behind this metal. Thank you for asking and allowing me to pass this knowledge forward. I’ll also be creating a short tutorial video demonstrating these steps—stay tuned for that!
